Buckwheat in Europe: History, Culture, Gastronomy and Nutrition

The purpose of the European Regional IBRA conference is to share ideas, problems and solutions on various aspects of both common buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) and tartary buckwheat (Fagopyrum tataricum). We are pleased to invite authors to submit their papers and posters or addressing issues in the following fields:

Preliminary programme
The scientific programme will consist of plenary lectures and poster sessions. Participants may present more than one oral or poster presentation.
We expect to organize the presentations around three axes:
- Overview topics
- Archaeology, history and culture
- Nutrition, medicine, gastronomy and marketing

Language
The presentations and all the documents related to the conference will be in English.
Call for talks and posters
It will be possible to present both talks (15 + 5 min discussion) and posters. All presentations will be in plenary.
If too many oral contributions are submitted, preference will be given to those that fit best into the scope of the conference, whereas the remaining ones may be asked to be presented as posters.
Call for abstracts
Please submit abstracts of your presentations, both talks and posters (max. 3000 characters incl. blanks) electronically via the Abstract submission form at www.fagopyrum.eu.
Deadline for submitting abstracts is September 15th 2015.
Accommodation
Each participant has to book him-/herself an accommodation. Hotels can be found for example at http://www.booking.com. Luxembourg-city has a very nice youth hostel within walk distance from the venue (http://youthhostels.lu ).
Early booking is recommended as Luxembourg will hold the presidency of the Council of the EU from July to December 2015.
Fees
Reduced fees will apply to students of all Member States of the European Union. Please provide a current education certificate / certificate of registration at the university.
The total conference fee will depend on the time of payment:

This fee includes admittance to conference sessions, conference documents including abstract volume, reception on Dec. 10th, lunch on Dec. 11th and coffee/tea breaks.
Registration
For registration please use the → registration form on the conference homepage (www.fagopyrum.eu). Please note that the conference capacity is limited to 60 participants. Deadline for registration is October 30th, 2015.
Payment
Before you pay, register first and wait for a reply of the conference secretariat. You will be informed if conference places are still available. After this confirmation, you should pay the conference fee within two weeks. Please pay the conference fee in Euro and free of charge by bank transfer to the following bank account:

Deadline for early payment is September 15th, 2015.
Currency
The Luxembourg monetary unit is the Euro (EUR, €).
Cancellation
Cancellations have to be sent by E-mail or in writing to the conference secretariat address. If your written cancellation is received by E-mail or post before September 15th 2015 your payment will be refunded (minus bank costs of the transfer). No refunds can be made for cancellations after this date.
